...and there's a mail again, and a call, and a mailer again!! oh there are orders to attend another workshop on leadership... with a usual message to bore us all... isn't it? "There's a Leadership Workshop planned for all of You, plz attend", " Become a better Leader", "Yes, you can, too, become a leader", so on and so forth, Every now and then, we keep hearing about Training Workshops on Leadership and how to be a successful leader, but seldom, is anyone concerned about being a "Team" member first.
What do Leaders do? They lead and command with example and a display of what they want. To lead, one must first learn who will they lead and what will be the purpose? and to know the answers to these questions, one must be 'one' first. I wonder what a team member must be, giving it further thoughts, I could zero down my factors as:
A team member must:
1) Know how to trust people around
2) Have a connect to the people around
3) Be able to accept the flaws and benefits of people around
4) understand the sentiments of people around
5) Have full faith in the leader
6) Know the value of 'Questions' that are put up by the people around
'People Around', yes, unless we are aware of what people think about an idea, the confidence in the leader, we cannot actually lead them. Unless we care about the people around, we cannot lead them. Unless we display the faith in our leaders nobody would learn to have faith. Unless we care about the sentiments of people around, they won't care about your's either.
Here, let's pledge to be a better team member to be a better Leader. For all those who aspire to lead someday must transpire to be a better Team member first. Let us first start talking to 'people around', to understand what exactly do we need to be a better leader. One who believes in 'People Around' is sure to be a better 'Leader'.
Somewhere, it read,
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
Let's aspire to transpire, to Inspire...
Yes, it's very true and acceptable.
